French Creek Software, Inc. was founded in 1989 with the mission of providing software to aid the water treatment chemist in identifying and solving scale and corrosion related problems. The various French Creek program series address the specific needs of cooling water systems, reverses osmosis, oil field water treatment and potable water -- as well as water reuse.

Within these application specific  series, version are available for field specialists to assist in selecting and optimizing treatments; for the formulator developing inhibitor blends for specific applications, and for the researcher, who wishes to model the performance of an inhibitor package.

Ion Association Model

French Creek modeling applications apply a complex approach for modeling mineral scale, but with a friendly software interface.

A typical French Creek program simultaneously models 18+ saturation levels and their interactions. Each saturation ratio calculated compares hundreds of possible ion pair combinations, finding the most likely distribution of species.

The use of ion pairing to estimate the free concentrations of reactants overcomes several of the major shortcomings of traditional indices. Indices such as LSI correct activity coefficients for ionic strength based upon the total dissolved solids. They do not account for "common ion" effects. Common ion effects increase the apparent solubility of a compound by reducing the concentration of reactants available.

The end result is a transportable, reliable means of predicting mineral scale formation.

Collecting water analysis from several laboratories or formats? French Creek users can easily change analytical units on the fly to match original reports or to better suit a given audience.

Copy/Paste Feature
French Creek users can enter an analysis to be modeled as a single source, or quickly copy/paste it to be mixed with up to 12 total streams.

Water Reuse
Water Reuse Suites include WaterCycle - for cooling water modeling, hyd-RO-dose - for reverse osmosis, and a mixing program: DownHole SAT, MineSAT, or WatSIM.
